CHENNAI: As part of her government's efforts to better the services of public distribution system (PDS) in Tamil Nadu, chief minister J Jayalalithaa on Wednesday allocated Rs 32 crore for modernization of rice mills in six districts.
Seven rice mills -- those in Ammanpettai and Pattukkottai (Thanjavur district), Kadachanendhal (Madurai), Erukkur (Nagapattinam), Neyveli (Cuddalore), Pollachi (Coimbatore) and Cheyyar (Tiruvannamalai) -- would be modernized.
